Pasó la jornada del sábado en el "curso de los magníficos" con un solo resultado, el esperado, el de Fenando Alonso poleman. En una magistral vuelta se llevó la clasificación y largará desde la primera posición. Michel Schumacher ganador del GP de Indianápolis salio último a clasificar y se tuvo que conformar con la 4ta posición de largada. Kimmi Raikonnen que está penalizado por rotura del motor estará largando desde la 14ta posición ya que en principio clasificó 4to.
